The Paris Games
Athletes were now starting to become known world-wide. Among the prominent athletes who medaled at these Games: American Johnny Weismuller, a swimmer who later became the best-known of all the cinematic Tarzans; Britain's Harold Abrahams, a sprinter who inspired the movie "Chariots of Fire"; and Paavo Nurmi, a runner who became known as the Flying Finn for his speed.
